Different material metals require different types of welding. MIG and TIG are most common and is required for any type of high performance welding.
TIG Welding (AKA heliarc)
"Tungsten Inert-Gas". It uses a tungsten electrode and an inert gas shield with a electric arc for welding materials. TIG welding is a more expensive due to the time and labor needed to perform. The end result is strong and leaner than MIG welds. Stainless steel and aluminum require TIG welding while mild steel can be either TIG or MIG welded.
MIG Welding
"Metallic Inert Gas". It uses a wire feed electrode and a gas shield with an electric arc. This form of welding is mainly used with low carbon steel (mild steel). Still very strong and with our professional fabricators, very clean.
